Polypropylene is a safe materialto use as a filterbetween two pieces of cotton or linen fabric. According to the Government of Canada,face masks should be made of at least 2 layers of fabric with one filter (such asnon-woven polypropylene fabric) in between (3 layers of material in total).Filters, such as non-woven polypropylene, add extra protection by trapping small particles of infectious material.
